The Valley of the Sun is a beautiful place to live, with excellent weather
and friendly people. While it can get a bit warm in the summer months,
you’ll be hard pressed to find better weather anywhere the remainder of
the year.
Many sporting and leisure activities are possible year-round, such as golf,
sailing, fishing, hiking, mountain biking, tennis, and swimming. Skiing and
other winter sports are available in the northern and eastern mountains of
Arizona during the winter months.
Like most major cities, the Phoenix metropolitan area has a diverse ethnic
population as well as a large number of transplants from other states. As
such, the city of Phoenix and its many surrounding cities offer diverse
architecture, housing styles, amenities, real estate opportunities, and etc.
Some communities have more traditional style homes, while others have
unique, modern edifices.
Arizona’s most scarce resource is water. As we live in the desert, water
has to be stored in a variety of reservoirs, lakes, and underground
aquifers. If you are moving to a developed area, your water access will be
already established.
Arizona is also home to several universities. The larger ones are: the
University of Arizona, in Tucson; Arizona State University, in Tempe; and
Northern Arizona University, in Flagstaff.
Professional sports are also widely represented in the Valley. The major
teams are: World Champion Arizona Diamondbacks Baseball Team; Phoenix
Coyotes Hockey Team; Phoenix Suns Basketball Team; and Arizona Cardinals
Football Team. There are also a few major golf tournaments in the Valley
each year. Two of these are the FBR Open and the Countrywide Tradition.
